JIMMY KIMMEL TALKS OSCARS® HOST GIG ON “JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE!”


To Host Live Global Event on Oscar® Sunday, February 26 on ABC
Late-night talk show host, producer and comedian Jimmy Kimmel confirmed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” that he will host the 89th Oscars® to be broadcast live on Oscar® Sunday, February 26, 2017, on the ABC Television Network. This is Kimmel’s first time hosting the global telecast.
“Mike and Jennifer have an excellent plan and their enthusiasm is infectious,” said Kimmel. “I am honored to have been chosen to host the 89th and final Oscars.”
“Jimmy’s ability to connect with people is what makes him a singular choice for this job,” said producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd. “His frank observations, relatable persona, wry humor and love of all kinds of film make him a natural fit for the Oscars stage.”

Now in its 14th season, “JKL” has earned six Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Variety Series Talk category, the Writing for a Variety Series category, and the Variety, Music or Comedy Series category.
The 89th Oscars will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at the Dolby Theatre® at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood, and will be televised live by the ABC Television Network at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.

Knott’s Scary Farm Opening Night

This year, Knott’s Scary Farm included four new Skeleton Key rooms away from the mazes for an individual two-minute experiences with all-new unique stories.
New Mazes included:
Special Ops: Infected The interactive video-game-like experience arms visitors with simulated military assault weapons and assigns them a simple mission: Kill as many zombies as possible. Guided by squad commanders, teams of Haunt visitors set off into an infected zone swarming with zombies.
Shadow Lands

The Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame inducted its Class of 2016


The Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame inducted its Class of 2016 Saturday night at Caesars Palace. Boxing greats Riddick “Bid Daddy” Bowe, Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini, Pernell “Sweet Pea” Whitaker, Ricardo “El Finito” Lopez, Christy Martin and Freddie Little were the fighters inducted. The hall also recognized trainers Kenny Adams and Thell Torrence, late gym owner and trainer Johnny Tocco, longtime boxing writer Tim Dahlberg, and TV and radio personality James “Smitty” Smith.
Some of the other attendees included Sugar Ray Leonard, Joe Cortez, Iran Barkley, Richard Steele, Badou Jack, Christy Martin just to name a few. The beautiful decor in the VIP Reception area was designed by “dash”.
